CODECUBE VENTURES

Nerd Dinner

Boy was that fun. Several hours of talkin' code, games, and plenty of opportunities to embarrass yourself. You should come to the next one on January 5th.

Read on for some of the highlights of the night.

One of my favorite parts of the night was when we started talking about old school arcade games. I'm talkin Afterburner, Strider, Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition, Shinobi, Double Dragons. Then it moved to Nintendo, the much maligned 3DO (poor poor Jessica :-P ), and the Sega CD's crowning achievement ... Night Trap. Much fun was had by all ...

Then came the non-fun portion of the night ... when we left, I started walking to where I had parked the car. Unfortunately, it seemed to not be there. As my mind reeled with thoughts of smashed windows and stolen cars, thankfully, Jon pulled up to remind me to post the next nerd dinner on the onetug calendar. He drove me around for a bit, and when I was convinced of the fact that my car had definitely been pilfered, he suggested it might be on the other side of the mall.

me: "no, there's absolutely no way I parked on the other side of the mall ... I am absolutely sure of it ... wait, is that I4? hmm ... drive over there ... D'oh!"

apparently I walked out the wrong side of the mall and got completely turned around. Thanks Jon!
