CODECUBE VENTURES

The Pirate Haus Inn & Hostel

You know, I never got around to mentioning this on the blog. We took a long weekend mini-vacation in June 04 and went to St. Augustine Florida. We couldn't have stayed at a cooler place. The Pirate Haus is a truly unique establishment ... we had a blast.

Conrad was a fantastic host ... friday and saturday nights he goes to a local pub fully decked out in pirate gear and sings sea shanties with "the bilge rats". Now, let me set up the scene ... we're in a very very small pub on George St. They like to keep it real by not having any lights on, only candle light. There's wooden tables all around the room and three dudes by the bar pirate style. The whole thing is sung a capella and it is a blast! everyone joins in and much liquid fun is imbued.

Ever since we visited the haus, I've been pretty hooked on pirates. I mean, I loved pirates before (Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite movies), but now it's insane. My son's birthday is coming up ... pirate themed. After that, we're doing his room pirate themed. Holloween? pirate costume. I'm consumed ;-)

I'm seriously looking forward to going back ... maybe this time we'll take the kids.
