The size page that a printer will print, regardless of your resolution, is approximately 720 pixels

So you should design any article or written work on your site to be either scalable with the pagesize (percent widths on tables), or within the 720px threshold.

Of course I must note that this was tested on the printers here at work, using internet explorer [browsers](javascript:alert('this is a test');)... if anyone knows if the different platforms/browsers print differently, please leave a reply to this post.
